What is ChatGPT?
While we are not yet at the stage where artificial intelligence will rule mankind as Skynet (and we will not be for some time), we need to talk about this step that mankind needs to take before true artificial intelligence is achieved.
The latest step in this evolution is the development of a language model called ChatGPT by OpenAI, a company that is strongly supported by Microsoft. Language models are, simply put, computing systems that can interpret text and generate new text from prior data. They can translate complex sentences, ‘interpret’ the text they are given, analyse its complexity, correct it if it is incorrect, etc. The language model is actually only one part of the real artificial intelligence that will be created – but a very powerful part that we can now test and teach ourselves.
The recently debuted ChatGPT can interpret the sentences we write, but mostly questions, and give us adequate, complex answers. You could say, “that’s what Google Assistant or Siri (or an Amazon Echo) can do, but you couldn’t be more wrong. With the aforementioned systems, you can’t have a conversation about a topic, if you ask them a question, you always get a pre-generated answer and nothing more. This new system, on the other hand, can carry on a long, meaningful “conversation” by remembering what we’ve talked about, putting our questions in context and trying to answer them in a way that gives us a real and meaningful answer to all our questions. But all this only works in English, right? Because the Hungarian language is often more complicated and the solutions we’ve found so far haven’t really worked in English. Wrong again – ChatGPT speaks perfect (well, 98%) Hungarian.
What does ChatGPT "think" about us?
Here is what we discussed with ChatGPT and what the responses were. By the way, ChatGPT is open to anyone, and all you have to do to have a good chat is visit the system’s website(https://chat.openai.com), register on the site and see if you can get a chat, as there is a lot of interest in the service these days.
However, if we get in, we can talk to him about any subject, whether it’s school curriculum, the stock market, car fittings or IT. That’s why we asked him what he thinks – about us.
The answer to our first question is almost perfect. Actually, it stands on its own, but we should add that we do not only develop software, but also implement it, sell ready-made software and create custom IT systems.
As far as innovation and maximising customer satisfaction are concerned, you are absolutely right. We would say that this is information in the public domain, but put like this, in this form, it is not to be found anywhere else on the web – it is the model that created it.
The details of our services have been a little bit hacked by the digital knife – a better list, just for the sake of order, I’ll list here without claiming completeness:
Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse, Big Data – Building automated data analytics systems, creating and exchanging reports and statements, implementing interfaces.
Teamwork and workflow support – With workflow-based solutions, we can optimise and digitise many processes, such as document management, customer service, invoice management, and other complex procedures.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 – We deal with the entire Microsoft Dynamics portfolio, from CRM and BC implementations for small and medium businesses to complex, large enterprise management systems at enterprise level, with diverse industry experience.
AR/VR solutions – To extend physical space and facilitate workflows in factories and maintenance.
Systems integration – Performing the widest range of IT-related tasks, system operations
Web development – Designing portals and e-commerce support systems
We recently wrote an article about the state of digitisation in Hungary, and it’s a fairly recent topic, so we asked him how he thought we were doing in the field of digitisation, and whether we could help others.
ChatGPT missed an important detail in the digitisation, but this is not surprising. As we know, its database – the information it uses to learn – is only available from before 2021 – the year Grepton’s main suite of applications supporting the digitisation of small and medium-sized enterprises began development. Since then, many companies have been successfully using our applications, all or part of the SmartOperations suite, to digitalise their day-to-day workflows. But since you couldn’t have known about this, we can’t cast stones.
The answer above, which marks the end of our conversation, is simply unacceptable. And how can you know all this? Probably from our many publications online, our previous work, quotes from our partners – and there’s probably a bit of generalisation in there, but what’s true is true. But another reason why you might want to choose us for the above services is our motto: We Deliver Real Value.
Summary
Use ChatGPT to have a conversation. It’s not so different from the old chat rooms where you could talk to strangers, except that here the interlocutor isn’t even a machine – “just” a network. It’s already hard to describe ChatGPT as if it’s not an existing person you’re talking to. And ultimately, the technology is about making people’s work and existence easier, in whatever way possible.
We can only hope that we can work on more such exciting systems in the future. In the meantime, you can find out what we’re working on now by using one of the ways suggested by ChatGPT:
