A Hungarian Innovation Award competition has been held every year for the past three decades to recognise the best achievements in domestic innovation. The award not only honours outstanding achievements, but also provides an opportunity to showcase advanced products and technologies that are environmentally and sustainably sound. It also contributes to a long-term competitive business approach based on innovation.
The competition was open to companies and organisations registered in Hungary that have achieved an outstanding innovation result in 2024 with the introduction of a new product, process or service and have thus been able to demonstrate significant business success.
The Hungarian Innovation Grand Prize 2024 and six other sectoral prizes were awarded on 26 March 2025.
The Industry Innovation Award 2024 was awarded to C3S Electronic Development Ltd. for the development of a remote sensing small satellite platform that provides useful and detailed data to a customer in the field of drought monitoring. The WREN 1 satellite, launched in August 2024, will be the largest satellite ever developed entirely in Hungary and will be a significant milestone. It is also the first Hungarian satellite to be built on a platform specifically optimised for remote sensing.
