e-VAT filing where your documents are
Itemized e-VAT analytics and filing through a machine-to-machine connection, directly from your Dynamics system. No separate program, no Excel export, no manual upload – and errors come to light before submission, not from the tax authority’s response.
One system, no intermediate layer
Errors surface before submission
Also works on earlier AX versions
For most finance organizations, the switch to e-VAT raises the same questions. A VAT return is no longer simply a form to fill in, but an itemized data submission – the question is where and how all of this takes place.
A separate program, a separate login
Yet another interface to learn, maintain permissions for and prepare for audit, detached from the source documents.
Excel export and manual upload
The data leaves the ERP and is then passed on by hand. Every export is another version and another opportunity for error.
Errors are revealed by the NAV’s response
The feedback arrives after submission. Corrections then easily have to be made under time pressure.
Double bookkeeping
If the return is compiled in another system, the ERP’s records and the analytics held by the NAV may drift apart over time. During an audit, this can create a particularly difficult situation.
“Either migrate, or you won’t comply”
Companies using earlier Dynamics AX versions are often told that compliance requires switching systems.
If these situations sound familiar, Grepton’s e-VAT module was built to solve exactly these problems.
- Grepton’s e-VAT module is part of your Dynamics system: it works in the same menu and on the same document base as your accounting.
- Corrections are never made in an intermediate system, but always on the original document. This keeps the ERP’s records and the analytics held by the NAV in sync.
- The e-VAT analytics are built from posted documents, and behind every line is the actual invoice, retrievable with one click.
- The return is not a separate spreadsheet or process, but the natural continuation of your bookkeeping.
No separate program
No Excel
No manual upload
No new system to learn
The complete monthly VAT closing process in a working system: from one-time setup, through pre-validation, to submission over the machine-to-machine connection.

The module follows the order of the real workflow. The first step is a one-time setup; the rest are part of the monthly closing process.
One-time setup: tax code catalog and mapping
The NAV’s tax code catalog is downloaded into the system and can be mapped to your company’s own tax codes. This is a one-time, transparent setup in the familiar master data maintenance interface. If the NAV’s catalog changes later, the module updates it, and the mapping remains maintainable.
The return is built from your bookkeeping
The module collects the period’s VAT items, builds the itemized analytics expected by the NAV, and assembles the fields of the return. There is no Excel export and no data transfer into another system. Behind every analytics line is the actual invoice, which can be opened with one click.
Pre-validation before submission
Before submission, the module runs its own checks. Errors and warnings are displayed by category, and from the list the faulty item can be opened with one click. Corrections are always made on the original document, after which the return can be regenerated.
Submission via machine-to-machine connection, with status and receipt
The finished return goes directly from the Dynamics system to the NAV over a machine-to-machine connection. There is no manual upload and no separate browser-based application. The module queries and displays the processing status, and downloads the receipt confirming submission and stores it alongside the return.
Self-audit, rectification and further cases
In practice, it is not only the basic cases that need to be handled. Self-audit, rectification, corrections following a NAV request, calculation of the self-audit surcharge, transfer requests, and the sheets related to reverse charge are all part of the module. All of this takes place in the same system and the same process.
corrections are made on the original document
validation rules
categories
Before finalizing the return, the module runs more than seventy rules across six categories. Errors and warnings are flagged separately, and from the list you can open the faulty analytics item with one click, and then the original document.
Corrections are made directly in the Dynamics system. The return can then be regenerated and the pre-validation run again.
This way, you don’t learn about a problem from the NAV’s feedback, and there is no need to fix the same error separately in an intermediate system.
Replaces submitting the Form 65 VAT return via ÁNYK
The return is filed directly from the system, without a separate form-filling program.
Exempts you from the Schedule M data reporting
Submitting the itemized analytics replaces the separate Schedule M reporting obligation.
Reduces the number of faulty returns
The NAV’s validations and the module’s own pre-validation together help filter out errors.
Increases transparency and auditability
Every return line can be traced back to the specific document, and submission is confirmed by a receipt.
Reduces administrative burden
The machine-to-machine connection replaces manual upload and intermediate file handling.
Prepares you for the NAV’s new direction
By using e-VAT, a company can gradually prepare to replace ÁNYK technology, without a later deadline forcing the transition.
The module can also be used on earlier Dynamics AX versions, so e-VAT compliance does not in itself require switching systems. The solution is usable in a live system and has been tested end to end against the NAV’s system.

Frequently asked questions
Is using e-VAT mandatory yet?
Using the electronic VAT system is not mandatory for the time being, but the NAV's aim is to gradually replace ÁNYK technology. Companies that prepare in advance won't have to make the transition under the pressure of a later deadline.
Does it replace submitting the Form 65 VAT return via ÁNYK?
Yes. The return is submitted directly from the Dynamics system over a machine-to-machine connection, without a separate form-filling program.
Does the Schedule M data reporting cease?
Submitting the itemized e-VAT analytics exempts you from the Schedule M data reporting.
Which Dynamics versions does the module work on?
The module can be used on Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Dynamics AX 2012 R3, AX 2009 and AX 4.0 systems.
Does it need a separate program or browser interface?
No. The module is part of the Dynamics system, working in the same menu and on the same document base as your accounting. There is no separate application, no Excel export and no manual upload.
What happens if the NAV's tax code catalog changes?
The user can initiate the catalog update in the system with a single button press, and the mapping to your company's own tax codes remains maintainable.
How is an error discovered before submission?
Before finalization, the module runs more than seventy rules across six categories. It displays errors and warnings by category, and from the list the faulty item can be opened with one click.
Where should a faulty item be corrected?
Always on the original document, in the Dynamics system. After that, the return can be regenerated and the pre-validation run again.
Does the module handle self-audit and rectification?
Yes. Self-audit, rectification, corrections following a NAV request, calculation of the self-audit surcharge, transfer requests and the reverse charge sheets are all part of the module.
How can I prove that the return was received?
The module queries and displays the NAV's processing status, and downloads the receipt confirming submission and stores it alongside the return.
How much does it cost?
The module is available as a single package. The price depends on the version of the system in use and the scope of the implementation. Request a live demo, and once we know your processes, we'll prepare a specific quote.
We’ll show you how the e-VAT return is prepared in your own Dynamics system, from setup all the way to submission.
