The project will develop an integrated geological fracture network analysis and modelling system, supported by scientific computer simulation, capable of simulating fracturing and its properties in a geological medium. The product simulates a 3D fracture model from rock image information based on the generation of numerical data characterising the fracture, and then calculates the derived parameters and fits them to the flow modelling system. It is expected to support the work of geologists, mining engineers and contractors and companies interested in reservoir geology, hydrogeology, geothermal, environmental geology, waste disposal, tunnelling, etc., dealing with fractured rock masses. The system will be implemented as a development based on novel procedures optimised for the industrial environment of common processes and applications.
In addition to solving applied geological problems, the analysis system is also highly suitable for basic geological science tasks and can provide significant results compared to complex industrial applications with significant simplifications.
In addition, the design of the system takes into account both the human resources and the typical hardware resources and processes of the target audience, thus producing a result that can be used in a sufficiently broad industrial environment.
