eXtremeMan Nagyatád: just for fun – and how well it turned out!

We’ve had a very exciting weekend: our team took part in the eXtremeMan Nagyatád Ironman distance race – and not just in any way – we finished 4th in the “just for fun” category, even though our main driver was simply having a good time.

We have had a very exciting weekend: our team participated in the eXtremeMan Nagyatád Ironman, and not without a just for fun category 4th place but we were mostly motivated by fun. Despite the heat, everyone put in a strong, confident performance and we crossed the finish line happy and satisfied.

The classic Ironman distance – which we competed in – was a total of 226 km, of which 3,8 km swimming, 180 km bike, and a marathon 42,2 km run included. This distance is a real test, and we did it in relays, forming a really close-knit team.

Our partial results:

  • Swimming: 1:19:34
  • Bicycle: 5:41:54
  • Running: 4:01:31
  • Placing within a category: 4. (just for fun category, out of 38 entrants)
  • Interesting fact: in the normal relay race 6. (out of 15 competitors)

Team members (relay composition):

  • László Szabó (1,27 km swimming)
  • Attila Weisz (1,27 km swimming, 30 km cycling, 5,25 km running)
  • Szabó Bence (1,27 km swimming, 5,25 km running)
  • Péter Vas (60 km bike)
  • Zoltán Rigó (30 km bike, 5,25 km run)
  • Róbert Fülöp (15,75 km run)
  • Tibor Szeredi (10,5 km run)
  • Csongor Szilágyi (60 km bike)

And of course a special thanks to Krisztián Farkas, who completed the IronMan distance separately with his family of 4, and helped the team during the whole preparation and on the spot.

Thank you to everyone who came along, cheered us on, or just genuinely enjoyed us!
